To support our mission, Cheshire Home must replace all of our outdated rooftop cooling units. The new HVAC systems will provide accurate temperature control and an air purification system, eliminating 99% of the germs in the air. These new air filtration systems will greatly assist our residents, who have weak immune systems, making them especially vulnerable to COVID-19 and other respiratory infections.
As you can imagine, the cost to replace and install a high-capacity and high-efficiency HVAC rooftop unit is pricey—at least $25,000 per unit and some with greater capacity are nearly twice that price. We have replaced two units so far, one unit thanks to a generous grant from the F.M. Kirby Foundation, and a second unit thanks to the generous support of The Hyde & Watson Foundation. With six more to go, we need to raise an additional $150,000 to make these improvements possible.
Help us reach our goal of $25,000 to replace our next HVAC unit!
